Identify with your market

Identify with your potential market right in your target area. It's easier to attract local customers - very difficult to change people's habits. If your service is available to us locally, we're most likely to phone you if we know you're there!

 

Ad Type and Size

Well, lucky you! Similar to a tradesperson, you are usually better off with a line ad. If I need a service just now and again, sorry I might not remember your name, but I do know what business type I need. Line ads are ordered by classification, so that's the way to get found.

 

Of course, again similarly to a tradesperson, if you do something a little extra that others don't, or if there's something your profession does that the general public don't know about, you may want to upgrade to a top, bottom or single feature to tell us about it. If you do, just make sure that your classification is obvious within your ad or we might miss you.

 

Do You Need A Wider Audience

If you attend at your customer's premises you may want to attract calls from a wider area than a typical retail area of 5,000 homes. So we do have available a limited number of wide area spots which cost less (per thousand magnets). To be eligible you will need to carry insurance and provide three customer references. You have to be confident your business can adequately support the whole area. These spots are available dependent on the areas open and it's best to get in early.

 

If your customers come to you, think long and hard about advertising too far away. If you already draw from a wide area that's likely to continue so you can build on it, but it can be difficult and expensive breaking into a new area.

 

Sometimes you're better off to do lots of different types of advertising right in the local area - own it! Whilst we'd like to advertise you on magnets all over the place, we'd rather advertise you where you're going to get value again and again and again so you stay with us again and again and again!
